It goes without saying, that we couldn’t ignore the momentous occasion that is the Queen’s Jubilee this year, we put our thinking caps on and researched options to celebrate this. This is when we came across the Queen’s Green Canopy. We are extremely lucky to be working with CYMK to offset their carbon footprint and had the amazing honour to welcome Mrs Susan Snowdon HM Lord-Lieutenant of County Durham onto the site to help plant the first of 70 trees in our very own Queen’s Green Canopy Plantation at the entrance to Haystax. It was a lovely event, the sun was shining, and we had learners and staff from Learning for Life and Consett Junior School as well as people who have supported us along the way so far.
